An introduction to google play services, how to remove Google from your smartphone and what are our alternatives.
Main Description
What is Google Play Services - not play store - and how it works? Why should we remove Google software from our smartphones? We will then discuss alternatives to Google dominated smartphone software: Ubuntu Touch, Cyanogenmod without gapps package.
Let's not discuss Apple much though. The hardware itself is problematic.

Professionally I am a web developer and designer helping small businesses, non profits, social & political causes, activists and people's movements with their web presence and internet objectives (mobilization, support, awareness etc.)
I have a very keen and active interest in open source, open data and open access. I am part of datameet.org, and I also work with Youthkiawaaz.com and the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal among others. I am interested in class politics, feminism and internet freedom.
