Why "Make in India"?
A Talk by Noopur, To be confirmed
Abstract
Who is the Indian maker? What does an Indian makerspace do? Why make/DIY at all? Who do we make for? This talk/discussion is a part of my ongoing research on DIY and P2P collaborative making in India to locate Indian makerspaces in the larger debates on education, skill building, politics and the Gandhian history of Swadeshi making.
Main Description
I will only talk to open the discussion with some provocations and ideas. If you are a makerspace founder/participant and want to join as a speaker, please mail me at noopur [dot] rava[ [at] gmail. Or tweet @tetisheri. :)
Speaker
Errant Wikipedian, HCI researcher, social computing, values in design, travel, photography, food and lover of cult and trash cinema.
