Geometric Origami and Kirigami

Abstract
Creating simple paper based geometric origami objects.
Main Description
The aim of this workshop is to get kids familiar with basic origami and kirigami. The kids will learn how to make very simple objects using paper. This workshop will give them a glimpse of what all can be done by just folding or cutting a piece of paper and also how to turn a 2 dimensional object into a 3 dimensional one.
Speaker
I'm a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters in Industrial Design from NID Ahmedabad. Have been a maker since I was a kid. I have been building a lot of things like speakers, cnc furniture, origami based objects, toys etc. Have conducted a few workshops on design thinking and systems design. one of the recent on being at Mozfest 2015. Recently I along with Makers of Things set up a makerspace in Riverside school Ahmedabad. I have been working for the past one and half year on open source innovation and makerculture.
