A Korean Spring

A Talk by Cherry G. Mathew, at Main Conference

Abstract

The DPRK (North Korea) is seen as a terrible anomalous wierd place. Isn't it just fitting then, that a Technical University funded by Christian Evangelicals is allowed to operate in the heart of this officially Athiest country ?

Cherry G. Mathew, teaches Speech Processing and Operating System Theory to undergraduate students this Spring, and would like to share this third time experience - LIVE FROM PYONGYANG!

Main Description

When we hear about the DPRK in the news, we seldom hear positive things. And yet here is a positive story that's coming out at you in the first person!

I would like to get on a Skype call from Pyongyang (yes, that's possible!) and talk about my work, life and things here. If we're lucky, I'll be able to show you some visuals of Pyongyang city , live from my 6th floor flat.

Apart from the immediate experience, I'm also happy to field Q&A.

Bear in mind that my views will be moderated by the fact that I'm physically in the country, and therefore may chose to not answer controversial topics that may endanger my well being or those of my colleagues.

I do hope to cover topics of a wide variety though - so feel free to ask!
