Himachal Code Camp | Starts April 04, 2016

Come learn to code in the Himalayas during the HillHacks Code Camp April 04 - May 20 2016. Apply by 13th March.

This is a great chance to get away from the heat and the distractions of your regular life. You can establish a healthy routine of physical activity and programming, and hang out where it is beautiful and cool, with new interesting people who are also interested in programming and self improvement. We might even let you borrow a laptop if you need one.

Freeman from Jaaga Study and Ayush from Infinity hackbase will lead a routine Monday - Friday

  • 7:30 - 9 am Yoga (Freeman)
  • 9 - 10 am Get ready for the day. Have bath (at the river?) Have breakfast.
  • 10 - 10:30 am CFI X-Prize meeting (Freeman) : Short meeting to discuss daily tasks.
  • 10:30 am - 12:30 pm HackerRank/Freecodecamp session (Freeman) : Work on programming challenges.
  • 2:30 - 5 pm Project session (Ayush) : Work on open source projects. Big or small.
  • 5 pm Tea and snacks
  • 5 - 7:30 pm Continue to program. Or explore as you please. Lots of activities around.
  • 7:30 PM Dinner time
  • Post Dinner: Continue with programming, exploration. Or snuggle into your tent.

On Friday, everyone comes together to talk about what they've been working on and share their projects. Folks are also welcome to take sessions in their respective areas of expertise.

There's no course fee for the Code Camp, but you should expect to pay a few hundred rupees per day for food & camping. See the estimated expenses spreadsheet. It's free if you're just coming for the programming study session or if you are living in Himahcal Pradesh.

The program is flexible. We are also accommodating non codecamp folks who volunteer for Dharamsala Animal Rescue or Hillhacks itself. Stay on site at the hackbase or anywhere locally.
